Jimmy Baptista hails from the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa. In case you didn’t know, South Africans like Jimmy love grilling at least as much as Americans. The South African slang word for barbecue is braai – rhymes with “sky.”

Jimmy’s a true braaimaster! While he’s always loved cooking, he and his wife, Linda, whipped up their magic sauce for the first time in their family kitchen back in 1997. He started sharing it with his friends, and- boom! It soon took South African braais by storm.

Since his sauce received so much love in South Africa, he figured, why not let the rest of the world enjoy it? So he brought it across the pond to the good ol’ United States of America!
